3D Space Mechanism Preview (Part 2)

2024-09-30

Mechanism Explanation

In the previous preview, we covered the initial intention of introducing the 3D space mechanism and what it brings to the table in terms of new performance. This article will focus on the specific rules of the fleet gameplay and the changes it may bring to Explorers in the game.

Firstly, a fleet will initially be assigned a specific altitude and will actively adjust its altitude to avoid collisions when encountering other fleets during the voyage. When the fleet density is high, and there is no space available to adjust altitude, it will adjust its route like before.

Secondly, a single fleet can interact with fleets at various altitudes simultaneously, but it must select an Operation Target in the 3D space (enter Surround View mode by pinching out) to do so. Blockade and Strategic Strike will also be effective against fleets at all altitudes, making combat more flexible and intense.

Moreover, buildings on the map (such as Bases, Outposts, Space Stations, etc.) can be attacked by fleets from all altitudes, and battles against Space Stations will allow more fleets to participate than before. Since fleets can sail at different altitudes, organizing actions will also be much easier.

Overall, fleet actions will have greater freedom than before, and players' strategizing experiences that arise from this feature will ascend to a new dimension. We plan to reveal adjustments to the defensive lineup and other related content in the future, so please stay tuned.

The 3D Space Mechanism will soon meet Explorers in the featured Pilot Server. The Pilot Server is expected to start recruitment on October 9, 2024. For more details, please see the recruitment preview blue post published simultaneously. We welcome all Explorers to sign up for the Pilot Experience Plan. Your attention and suggestions will help us further optimize the gameplay experience. Thank you for your support of Infinite Lagrange.
