Angulum Landing Gameplay Preview (Part 2)

2024-07-29

In the last preview, we covered the origin of this rocky planet. Now, we will take a look at the gameplay on this planet's surface and its orbital strike mechanic.

1. Detecting the Planet

After Angulum's Galactic Event is unlocked, NOMA Shipping Group will reveal the vague coordinates of the planet. At the end of the Warp Jet, the exact location of the planet will be observed. Meanwhile, NOMA Shipping Group will set up signal beacons for Explorers to moor into the planet's orbit. When the planet appears, it will enter a temporarily stable state for observation, during which Explorers may land on the planet's surface and explore. When the Warp Jet comes back, the planet will lose its stable state for observation, and the exploration will be terminated.

2. Mooring in Orbit and Separation of the Landing Ship

Once the planet enters the stable state for observation, Explorers may command their fleets to moor in the planet's orbit via signal beacons. Each signal beacon can detect and reveal the vision of a portion of the planet's surface. After selecting a landing area, you may command the fleet to separate the ships with landing and control operation capabilities from it and land them on the planet's surface.

3. Planet Surface Exploration

When exploring the planet's surface, Explorers will carry out control operations with various areas as their exploration targets. When exploring different areas, Explorers have a chance to discover industrial ruins or military outposts of Sacrum Chu Imperium and gain various types of rewards and buffs.

Sacrum Chu Imperium Resource Warehouse: When exploring the warehouse area, you may discover Sacrum Chu Imperium Vanguard TE Destroyer. Ships that are intact will be directly added to the landing fleet and offer additional support for the current surface exploration.

Sacrum Chu Imperium Repair Factory: A Sacrum Chu Imperium Repair Factory, where Explorers may find Prefab Modules inside to repair the landing ships right away.

Special Area: There are large patches of unstable magnetic fields around the poles of the planet, forming magnetic bands that will seriously affect the control operation efficiency of the landing fleet. Based on the intel, the area still contains working magnetic field shielding devices, which will allow the landing fleet to quickly travel through the magstorm area. Some operational Sacrum Chu Imperium Action Planning Platforms can also provide the Action Point Supply for the landing fleet.

Military Outpost: When the landing fleet approaches it, Explorers should beware of its defense system. Unmanned fleets and defense aircraft formations hiding in the stronghold will launch counterattacks against any attacker. After successfully getting close to a military outpost, Explorers may discover Sacrum Chu Imperium Landing Ship's blueprint fragments or rare technology assets.

4. Orbital Strike Support

When the landing fleet explores the surface, they may encounter special military areas. These military areas are spread with robust ground fortresses or have formed powerful defensive coordination between each other. The fleet moored in orbit needs to cooperate with the landing fleet on the planet's surface in order to complete the exploration and control operation.

Fleet Providing Orbital Strike Support (The image is only for display and doesn't represent the final quality.)

The fleet moored in orbit may provide orbital strike support, unleashing the fleet's missiles and torpedoes to strike ground facilities through the atmosphere. There are three modes of orbital strike, targeting different types of Sacrum Chu Imperium defense installations respectively.

Area Strike: Request missile weapon and aircraft formation firepower support from the fleet moored in orbit, enabling simultaneous wide-range strikes at the target center and nearby areas.

Missile Strike: Request missile weapon firepower support from the fleet moored in orbit, dealing massive damage to facilities in a single area.

Aircraft Strike: Request dual-purpose aircraft firepower support from the fleet moored in orbit. The dual-purpose aircraft will perform anti-aircraft or full firepower support in the target area based on the aircraft's capability.

Choosing proper landing areas, controlling and occupying industrial and military ruins of Sacrum Chu Imperium, and establishing appropriate orbital fleets and landing fleets will test the strategic decision-making of the Explorers. For our next preview, we will reveal the Sacrum Chu Imperium industrial equipment and blueprints that can be obtained from exploring the planet's surface. Please stay tuned.
