Auxiliary Ship Feature Update and Ship Balance Adjustments Preview

2024-05-22

Dear Explorers,

In the vast universe of Infinite Lagrange, Auxiliary Ships were originally designed to serve as a critical logistical force, providing repair and production support to frontline fleets to ensure they could regain combat capabilities in long-range strategic operations. However, after observing in-combat testing and receiving feedback from Explorers, we realized that Auxiliary Ships still have room for improvement in their frontline support capabilities. To meet such strategic needs of Explorers in the vast universe, we will soon be updating the features of Auxiliary Ships to further enhance their support capabilities. At the same time, we will make stats adjustments to some ships in an effort to provide a richer strategic lineup-building experience.

Auxiliary Ship Feature Update

New Feature 1: Auxiliary Ships can now dock with sub-fleets affiliated buildings

We have always hoped that the sub-fleet mechanism can give players more space to choose their strategies, but due to the lack of logistical support equipment for the sub-fleet buildings, the sub-fleet often cannot recover in time after the battle, which affects their combat effectiveness.

The new feature allows Auxiliary Ships to dock with sub-fleet buildings. After docking is done, the rate of automatic repairs to ships in the sub-fleet building is increased dramatically. At max enhancement, FSV830 - Fast Tactical Auxiliary Ship can increase its repair speed to a rate equal to 90% of the Base's repair speed, and the Ediacaran - Heavy Firepower Auxiliary Ship can increase its repair speed to a rate equal to 110% of the Base's repair speed.

In addition to automated repairs, sub-fleets can produce ships directly with the aid of the Auxiliary Ship’s shipyard. When multiple Auxiliary Ships are docked, the shipyards of multiple Auxiliary Ships can be enabled at the same time, facilitating the rapid replenishment of the sub-fleet.

New Feature 2: Docking to produce aircraft

Aircraft are a critical part of the fleet lineup, but their high loss rate could weaken the combat capabilities of the fleets carrying aircraft after successive operations. Auxiliary Ship’s Aircraft Production Module allows Explorers to replenish aircraft for fleets with Auxiliary Ships between long, successive battles.

Now, we are going to extend this capability even further. In addition to producing aircraft for their fleet, Auxiliary Ships with the Aircraft Assembly Lines can produce aircraft for other fleets, including the Explorer's own fleet and those of the Community members. Simply extend and dock the Auxiliary Ship to the target fleet, and it can offer aircraft production service to the fleet.

With an Auxiliary Ship, it is possible to quickly recover combat capabilities across fleets, cooperate with other players in the Community, and support each other.

Auxiliary Ship Performance Parameter Adjustments

This update will also bring in adjustments to Auxiliary Ship production speed and uEcoin consumption rate during production.

The base production time of Auxiliary Ships will be reduced by 30%, and the enhancement effect of the production speed enhancement will be increased from 40% to 80%. A fully enhanced Auxiliary Ship should have a production speed close to the production speed of the Base.

There will also be adjustments to how uEcoins are spent during the production process. The cost of producing or repairing a ship is set at 1,000 uEcoins for any ship. Docking for repairs or production with different fleets no longer charges extra uEcoins.

We hope that the Auxiliary Ship's production capabilities will be more in line with its strategic positioning, providing Explorers with reliable support when fighting far away from the Base.

Anti-aircraft Weapon Mechanism Update and Balance Adjustments

Anti-aircraft Weapon Mechanism Update

Anti-aircraft weapons have an important place in the Lagrange Network. We noticed that the limited anti-aircraft range of current near-defense weapons restricts their normal performance in combat. To address this issue, we will add a weapon mechanism that allows onboard anti-aircraft weapons to toggle in and out of anti-aircraft mode: When the ship is not under attack from aircraft, the anti-aircraft weapons will default to expand its anti-aircraft range and operate with standard weapon efficiency; and when the ship comes under aircraft attack, the anti-aircraft weapons will switch the mode, focusing on countering incoming targets and boosting anti-aircraft efficiency.

We hope introducing this mechanism can further boost the performance of anti-aircraft weapons, allowing onboard anti-aircraft weapons to play a more important role in combat.

Ship Balance Adjustments

The Aircraft Carrying Capacity is an important parameter for carrier ships. In the original design, we wanted the different Command Points and Aircraft Carrying Capacity between different carrier ships to reflect the ships' respective characteristics and give them corresponding application scenarios. However, in the current fleet lineup rules, the failure to include the Command Points of aircraft within the fleet's total Command Point cap has led to situations where some carrier ships possess more aircraft firepower than intended under certain circumstances. This cramped the creative space available for building fleet lineups. We plan to adjust the Command Points for these carrier ships to balance them. Through balance adjustments, we hope these carrier ships can still play their due roles in combat, and that Command Points can play an important strategic balancing role in fleet creation, making fleet lineups more diverse.

We sincerely thank each and every Explorer for their support and love of Infinite Lagrange. Your feedback and gaming experience will inspire us to continuously improve the game's features. All the mechanisms, numbers, and effects mentioned above are still under development and testing, and they might be subject to changes before the actual update, which is expected to go live soon. Your feedback and comments will be a great help in improving the game's features.
