Combat Mechanism Adjustments & Explorer Support Program Preview

2022-03-16

Hi all,

This time we will bring you a preview of two parts: the combat balance adjustments available on Mar 23 and the Explorer Support Program available on Mar 16.

Combat Mechanism Adjustments on Mar 23

In the Lagrange Network, ships are giant military and civilian machines usually equipped with a variety of weapons and modules. A ship's command center compiles weapons or modules with similar functions into a system and enables these modules to sync up in combat to a certain extent. Different systems have different roles:

Weapons System: Tasked with coordinating and maintaining the proper functioning of ship-mounted weapons

Hangar System: Tasked with housing and deploying aircraft

Armor Systems: Tasked with maintaining the ship's structure and armor

Propulsion System: Tasked with controlling the ship's maneuvering

Command System: Tasked with giving core commands to the ship

Subsystem: Provides support, maintenance, communication, storage, and other capabilities

When a system is destroyed, the ship will lose the functions to which that system corresponds.

As in the current gaming, some aircraft and ships can attack the targets' primary system. When a target's primary system is destroyed, the modules corresponding to that system are disabled in that battle. With this ability, they can make the opponent ships that rely on the primary system's functions quickly enter the disabled status, thus gaining a tactical advantage. According to the long-time data analysis and communication with explorers, we found that the experience of using the ships sharing this feature has gradually converged. This phenomenon hampers the diversity of fleet line-ups.

In this update, we will add the system selection mechanism for weapons and the corresponding effects after different systems are destroyed, and adjust the allocation of some strategic skills at the same time, to provide more diversified combat experience.

1) We have fine-tuned the existing combat mechanism for attacking the primary system. Different weapons will carry out focused attacks on enemy ships' systems, for example, attacking weapon systems or propulsion systems actively.

2) A ship's weapon system, hangar system, propulsion system, and command system all have a chance to be destroyed during combat and will produce the corresponding effects after being damaged.

Destroy a weapon system: Weapon modules within the system will not work.

Destroy a hangar system: The aircraft carried by the system will not be able to properly take off and land.

Destroy a propulsion system: Evasion provided by the propulsion system will be disabled, and the ship will not be able to perform Emergency Evasion.

Destroy a command system: The strategic skills corresponding to the command system will not take effect.

3) We will also make adjustments on the strategic skills for ships' weapon systems by assigning them to the corresponding ship systems (weapon system, armor system, propulsion system, command system, etc.) following how the strategic skills work. For example, the skill Emergency Evasion (When the ship's HP falls to 10%, it retreats to the middle row of your formation. This effect only triggers once per battle.) will be triggered by the command system.

4) The following weapons will have their attack targets and attack methods adjusted in this update:

The L-CM-178C/D "Roland Dart" Guided Attack System of the Vitas A021 - Heavy Attacker is adjusted to attack the target's propulsion system and primary hangar system in sequence.

The AG-275D Heavy Battery of the B192 Newland - Heavy Attacker is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system and propulsion system in sequence.

The AM-210D Airborne Missile Launcher of the Janbiya Aer410 - Assault Attacker is adjusted to attack the target's command system, primary weapon system, and primary hangar system in sequence.

The FG-181D Heavy Battery of the A101 the Rational - Combat Attacker is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system.

The L-CT-2-328D "Roland Iron Dwarf" Assault Torpedo of the Stingray - Torpedo Bomber is adjusted to attack the target's propulsion system and primary hangar system in sequence.

The MK3-AG-350D "Cross" Airborne Combat Cannon of the Mistral - Combat Attacker is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system and propulsion system in sequence.

The MK1-AG-335D "Cross" Airborne Combat Cannon of the Spore A404 - Light Fighter is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system and command system in sequence.

The AT-360A "Supernova – White" Anti-Ship Torpedo of the Mare Serenitatis - Heavy Frigate is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system and propulsion system in sequence.

The CT-280T "Roland Iron Dwarf K" Special Cluster Torpedo of the Reliat - Stealth Frigate is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system and propulsion system in sequence.

The CIT-5 Field Support UAV Hangar of the CV3000 - High-Speed Carrier is adjusted to attack the target's primary weapon system.

The BT-2-310D Torpedo Bombardment System of the Bullfrog - Dual-Purpose Bomber is adjusted to attack the target's command system and primary hangar system in sequence.

The CST-2 Siege UAV Pod of the Mare Nubium - Light Landing Ship is adjusted to attack the target's command system.

The CST-4 Siege UAV Pod of the NOMA M470 - Heavy Landing Ship is adjusted to attack the target's command system.

The CST-2 Siege UAV Pod of the XT-8 - Dual-Purpose Landing Ship is adjusted to attack the target's command system.

(The details are subject to the online version of the notice)

Attackers generally possess the ability to attack their targets' systems. According to their own characteristics, they will follow different Attack Priorities to strike various types of systems. Bombers will directly destroy their targets' structure as the primary mode of operation. Their weapons are so powerful that they usually cause additional damage to specific systems. Dual-purpose units specialize in landing operations and close-range operations. They can lock onto their targets' command system for precision strikes, directly destroying the operational centers.

5) After the update on Mar 23, we will issue 2 Tech Point Restoration Items to every explorer.

Explorer Support Program on Mar 16

To help novice explorers adapt to the hub star system gameplay and the subsequent agreement gameplay in other star systems, we will launch the Explorer Support Program specifically for those who enter the hub star system for the first time.

Novice Explorers

Explorers who complete the star system exploration for the first time will be eligible for the Explorer Support Program upon entering the hub star system. If you make successful registration, head to a new star system, and sign an exploration agreement within 30 days of obtaining the eligibility, the program will be activated during your exploration of the new star system.

If activating the program in the new star system, you can be rewarded with Proxima Coins and Tech Points by unlocking Base Zones. This program is only valid for this star system journey. It comes to an end when you return to the hub star system after the development rating. You can also use Chu-Coins to unlock additional rewards.

Veteran Explorers

Explorers who have signed agreements twice or above (including those who are signing the second agreement) when the Explorer Support Program launches will be eligible for the Veteran Explorer Support Program and receive rewards according to the number of exploration agreements completed. Explorers who have already obtained eligibility for the Explorer Support Program can't participate in this event.

The above is the Preview of the combat mechanism adjustments and the Explorer Support Program event. We are committed to building a real and wonderful Lagrange Network and paying attention to the fun and balance of in-game battle strategies. The valuable suggestions given by every new/veteran explorer are appreciated. Thank you all for your support and love for Infinite Lagrange.
