New Social and Team Gameplay Preview II Squad — A More Flexible Way of Teaming Up

2024-01-03

In the previous gameplay preview, we introduced some changes to the Org. From now on, Orgs will no longer be responsible for strategic roles or Community-forming in regular star systems. Explorers will embark on journeys to different star systems in the form of squads. The squad will unite Explorers like never before, signing up for the Star System Agreements and facilitating social interactions, strategy planning, and Community creations within the star system.

Register at the Explorers System as Squads

In order to provide everyone with a free and flexible way of teaming up, the star system registration no longer requires the entire Org to act as a single entity; it will now be based on squads.

A squad can consist of up to 25 members. Explorers from different Clans, Guilds, Unions, or those not affiliated with an Org can form a squad together; Members within the same Org can also join different squads and go to different star systems for exploration.

If a squad consists of 15 or more members from the same Org and its captain is also part of that Org, it becomes an exclusive squad for that particular Org. The exclusive squad will activate "Exclusive Talents" in the Org Equipment for these Org members. Exclusive Squads of Unions, Guilds, and Clans can build Command Centers, Dockyards, and Warehouses, respectively.

Companion Squad

When registering in the Explorers System, multiple squads can jointly register as Companion Squad to explore in unison while keeping the original registration experience unchanged.

Companion Squad can consist of up to 4 squads. Companion Squad's admin can register multiple joint squads as a single entity. During the star system exploration, all squads in the Companion Squad will go to the same star system for exploration. When exploring a new star system, all members of the Companion Squad will land in the same region.

Squad Cooperation Within the Star System

After setting off for star system exploration, Explorers will engage in social, strategic, and Community-forming features in the form of squads.

Explorers who registered as a squad will remain in the same squad after going to a new star system. In the new star system, Explorers can quit their original squad or create/join another squad. Joining a squad is not restricted by region.

Squad members will maintain cordial relationships and share each other's visions. Squad members can use each other's facilities as warp staging points. Squad members can send fleet reinforcement to each other. Squad members can chat on an exclusive squad channel.

The squad will be managed by 1 captain and up to 2 vice-captains. Squad admins have the ability to send squad mail, edit squad announcements, and adjust squad settings.

Squads can occupy Space Stations, form Communities, and participate in the final Star System Development Rating.

When the season is over and upon returning to the Explorers System, the squad will be disbanded automatically.

Plans for Forming Squads from Existing Orgs

Following the release of revamped Org and Squad features, the original Org structure will be converted into the new version using the following plans.

For Explorers who are currently exploring, their original Org will be converted into one or more squads. Explorers in the Hub Star System will be registered as squads in their next exploration.

Specific rules are as follows:

1.If the current Org has less than 25 members, all members within the Org will be put into the same squad. The Org leader will become the squad captain.

2.If the current Org has more than 25 members, but there's a certain group that contains no more than 25 people, then all members within the particular group will be put into the same squad. Org leaders or group admins will be prioritized in becoming squad captains.

3.If the above conditions are not met, the remaining members will be split evenly and randomly into several squads.

The space stations occupied by the original Org will be distributed evenly to the squads within that particular Org. For Orgs that have already joined a Community, their squads will remain inside the original Community. The rules of the Star System Development Rating remain unchanged, which is still based on the Community for the evaluation.

This sums up the Squad Gameplay, and we believe it will make team-forming and socialization among Explorers more flexible and personalized. With Squad Gameplay, the cooperation between Communities will be a lot more convenient. Squads can visit each other, granting the entire Community access to the Warp feature within the star system and making it easier for players to engage in large-scale Org operations. Changes to the Community will be covered in the next preview. Stay tuned.
