Beacon Festival Event Preview

2023-01-15

So dim, so dark, the sparks dispel the coldness.

Flickering into the distance, the light shines into the future.

Wandering, we dive to where none have set foot in space.

Gathering, one inspires another.

A short poem on Beacons (Anonymous)

While implementing Project Otherside, to locate the exit parameters of under-studied Lagrange Nodes and to test the stability and pressure-bearing capacity of the channel, the experimenters would release large beacons with extremely long battery life into the channel. Before these beacons passed through the nodes and arrived at the target star system to collect test parameters, they formed streaks of light that shone brilliantly in the sky. People poetically named the spectacle "wishful lights." This custom gradually spread later on, and it became the common practice to release a large number of test beacons into each Lagrange Gate to test the safety and pressure of passing the gate. As a result, the Beacon Festival spread widely throughout the galaxy.

The beacons that shine brightly in the starry sky tell the tale of Lagrange Nodes' development history and foster the scientific spirit of space exploration in generations of Explorers. Today, the Lagrange Network will be welcoming the Beacon Festival again. The Antonios Explorer Contact Center has prepared a simulated beacon release ceremony and some fun holiday games for Explorers, calling for all Explorers who are on vacation to return. We hope that Explorers who look up at the beacons in the starry sky would recall the fearless spirit they had when exploring the great unknown of space and relive the warm feelings when exploring with their friends and family. The Explorer Contact Center wishes all Explorers an early Happy Beacon Festival!

Available to:

All star systems

1. Racing Between the Stars

During the Beacon Festival every year, Explorers will travel through Stargates, unloading their luggage and gathering at their Org headquarters to review the Org's achievements in the past year. "Racing Between the Stars" is one of the most popular holiday activities. During the event, Explorers and their fellow Org members can go to the Explorer Contact Center to invite each other to have a race between the stars. This time, Racing Between the Stars will be held as a time-limited race, which makes it more challenging. Explorers can use the screen or the left and right movement keys on the keyboard to avoid space garbage and radiation belts, while adjusting their speed with the acceleration and deceleration keys to travel the greatest distance possible within the specified time to get the best result.

This event is held in phases. In each phase of the competition, Explorers of the Org can use the button on the event screen to add gifts to the event gift pool as rewards for active participants. Org members will get a number of chances to unwrap gifts according to their results during the competition, which gives Explorers the chance to get incentive gifts from fellow Org members in the settlement period of each phase. Generous Org members will also be commended and rewarded during the event. Explorers who haven't joined an Org can also take on challenges alone, or they can actively join an Org to compete with other Explorers.

During the event, the Beacon Festival event channel will also be available to all Orgs to broadcast the exciting races and gift pool updates in real time. Explorers can also share their experiences in the channel and thank their Org members for gifts.

Participation Requirements: Explorers who have expanded their Base to Zone 2

Event Rewards: During the event, a new phase will start every 48 hours, with a total of 5 phases. The final 1 hour before each phase ends is the settlement period. After the first participation and first share in each phase, Proxima Coins will be issued as a reward.

2. Gravity Detection Operation

During the Beacon Festival, the Explorer Contact Center has also prepared a practice run of the Gravity Detection Operation for Explorers, which simulates how the probes collect the gravitational data of planets on the screen. Explorers will need to set a launch route so that the launched probes can pass through observation points accurately. The number of probes that can be launched, as well as the location and number of observation points, are different in each stage. The detection environment will also be different each time, so Explorers will need to exercise good judgment to complete the detection task with a limited number of probes.

Participation Requirements: Explorers who have expanded their Base to Zone 2

Event Rewards: During the event, a new stage can be unlocked every 24 hours, with a total of 8 stages. After experiencing the most recently unlocked stage for the first time, Cosmetic Points can be claimed as a reward. It also starts the countdown to unlock the next stage.

3. Thunderbolt Star - Multi-role Arsenal Ship BP Release Event

If a weapon I designed needs to be tested, I won't mind if you aim it at me.

—Bang, Chief Cannon Expert of the Thunderbolt Group

During the Beacon Festival, Thunderbolt Group will also release the new Thunderbolt Star - Multi-role Arsenal Ship Blueprint for Explorers. The Thunderbolt Star - Multi-role Arsenal Ship is mounted with a long-rail railgun and a rapid-fire anti-ship weapon system, which enables it to attack small to medium ships effectively. The Arsenal Ship also carries the new mobile special ammunition synthesis plant, which provides special ammo for all weapons on board and improves weapon performance. The Arsenal Ship also has the "Active Counterattack" flagship skill, which makes all ships in the fleet except aircrafts launch a counterattack against the sub-target fleet when the fleet is attacked by multiple fleets at the same time.

4. Beacon Reunion - Holiday Return Event

During the Beacon Festival, the Explorer Contact Center has sent out another call for Explorers who are on vacation to return to the Lagrange Network. At the Contact Center, Explorers can invite other off-duty Explorers to return to the Lagrange Network. A liaison relationship will be formed once they enter their Liaise Code. During the event, the Contact Center will assess the behavior of returning Explorers and provide corresponding rewards to the Explorer who invited them.

The Beacon Festival has always symbolized Explorers' relentless spirit and desire to explore the universe, develop star systems, and study Lagrange Nodes. It also embodies good qualities Explorers have, such as their unity and willingness to help and support one another. In this boundless universe, human beings are so insignificant compared to stars, yet they are also so united. Only by uniting can human beings create miracles like the many beacons that have appeared one after another in the icy universe. We hope Explorers would be able to celebrate this warm Beacon Festival with other Explorers while exploring.

That's it for the story about the Beacon Festival and the introduction of related gameplay. The Beacon Festival will be released on January 18 after the maintenance is completed. All Explorers are welcome! Wish all Explorers an early Happy Beacon Festival!
